To be good at something, you must fail and learn from your mistakes. I know that writing essays is my weakest point when it comes to scholar work. I tend to want to finish my work as fast as possible with little to no revision. Additionally, because of the want to finish fast, my sentence structure is weak and most of the time it doesn’t make any sense. My writing is often vague since I just want to finish, so I get straight to the point and ignore adding any details to the main points I am covering. But because I have revised every essay I wrote I have seen an improvement in my own writing skills. Despite rushing all the essay, I wrote in WRC 1013 my writing skills have improved because I have revised every essay I have written and fixed†¦show more content†¦I can further improve my communication skills by revising my essays after I finish writing them and double check for word usage as well as grammar and development of ideas. My weakest set of skills are my critica l thinking skills, which need a lot of work. I tend to not elaborate my ideas well enough nor do I try to provide well defined examples, this causes the comprehension of my essays to have issues. I tend to just write what is required for me to write and not try to push myself or try to expand on my ideas. The essay â€Å"The Selfish Meme Summary Analysis Paper† contains the clearest examples of my poor critical skills, in this case, â€Å"The article â€Å"The Selfish Meme† by Frank Rose explains how our brains react, in a positive way, by using research done by two neuroscience researchers at Harvard† (Aguilar, â€Å"The Selfish Meme Summary Analysis†, Revised Draft,1). In the sentence I stated the brain reacts, but I never mentioned to what the brain is reacting. I did not elaborate on how or to what the brain was reacting to and these types of details could be so important to the comprehension of the essay.
